↣ Survival of the fittest
Now we will talk about survival of the fittest which is related to natural selection.
I recommend that you watch these videos to understand it better and in a more visual way.
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor is it the most intelligent that survives that survives It is the one that is most adaptable to change."
-C.Darwin
"You don't have to adapt to change, you have to generate it."
-Andy Stalman
What is survival of the fittest?
"Survival of the fittest" is an important phrase in the evolutionary theory of Charles Darwin.
Charles Darwin is the most important English naturalist of the 19th century, and in formulating
his theory on the evolution of species, proclaims that only those who best adapted to an environment are those that manage to survive.
For Darwin, "natural selection" or "survival of the fittest" is that which preserves the difference and individual variation of every living being, which leads it to improvement in their living conditions and forces them to destroy everything that harm them.
However, for this to take place, certain changes or modifications in the living being throughout history, which will go making it stronger and adaptable to any environment.
Species that are best adapted to a given climate or environment will transmit those same qualities to their descendants, which will help them to have a better future. Similarly, sexual selection ensures that the most vigorous males and adapted to produce a greater number of living beings of the same species and will give a higher chance of survival.
The more species grow in population, the better chance they have of survive, on the other hand, those that are diminishing become rare and tend to extinction, because they are overcome by the modified and improved descendants of the most common species or with the greatest number of living beings.
But no one can predict which groups will prevail to the end, because there are species that have survived despite being a minority, so no one knows the end of a species and the survival of the other.
For Darwin, the most important thing is adaptation to an environment, because this will train and give you greater qualities to be able to survive, regardless of whether or not it is majority of its kind. So it no longer matters so much the strength or power of a certain species, but the adaptation and modification to a certain environment, which will put it to test and will confront him with other beings equal to or better than him, but by defeating them will reach the supremacy of his species and this will be inherited to his descendants, the which will have a better chance of survival.
